About Barangay Directory

Last updated: May 6, 2026

Barangay Directory is an independent civic-information project that catalogs every administrative barangay in the Republic of the Philippines — all 42,010 of them across 1,642 cities and municipalities, 82 provinces, and 18 administrative regions.

Our goal is straightforward: make it easy for any Filipino — or anyone working with a Filipino community — to find the contact information, elected officials, programs, and services of any barangay in one place. Today this information is scattered across hundreds of LGU websites, Facebook Pages, downloadable PDFs, and outdated print directories. We bring it together, keep it current, and publish it as a single, free, structured resource.

Why this directory exists

The Philippine Statistics Authority publishes the official list of administrative units (the Philippine Standard Geographic Code), and the 2024 Census of Population (POPCEN) provides per-barangay population. That is the raw data. What it does notprovide is context, contact information, officials, ZIP codes, neighbouring services, or a single page where a resident can answer the question “who do I call at my barangay?”

Barangay Directory closes that gap. Each of the 42,010barangay pages combines official census figures, population rank within its city and province, urban/rural classification, the parent city’s income classification, BSKE 2026 election context, neighbouring barangays, nearby services, and verified officials and contact details where available. Where data is missing or unverified, we say so plainly.

Editorial standards

Every barangay page is generated from a transparent pipeline that combines official Philippine government open data with verified user submissions. We document our sources, verification process, update cadence, and known data-quality limitations on the methodology page.

The principles we publish under:

  • Data over opinion. The narrative on each barangay page is built from real census figures, ranks, percentiles, and classification — not from speculative or generated commentary.
  • Verified or labelled. Officials and contact details are shown with a verification badge when confirmed against an authoritative source. Unverified entries are clearly marked and invite corrections.
  • Mandatory disclaimers. Every page that displays officials carries a visible disclaimer reminding visitors to confirm critical details directly with the barangay before relying on the information for any official transaction.
  • Open to correction. Anyone can submit a correction for any barangay listing using the form on each page or the typed inquiries on our contact page. Punong barangays and barangay officials can claim their barangay’s page for a verified badge.
  • No collection of personal information about residents. We only publish information about barangay government units and their elected officials acting in their official capacity. See our privacy policy for full detail.

Independence and disclaimer

Barangay Directory is an independent project. We are not affiliated with the Philippine government, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), any local government unit, or any political party or candidate. Information on individual barangays may be unverified, outdated, or subject to change after a Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election (BSKE); always confirm critical details directly with the barangay before relying on them for any official transaction.

Advertising and revenue

Barangay Directory is supported by advertising and sponsored business listings. All paid placements are clearly labelled. We publish the full standards we hold advertisers to on the ad content policy page, including the categories of content we will not accept and our takedown process.
