Barangay Punta Buri

Situated in Ajuy, Iloilo, Barangay Punta Buri is one of 34 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Punta Buri had a population of 1,318. This made it the 15th largest of 34 barangays in Ajuy by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Punta Buri accounted for approximately 2.47% of the total population of Ajuy, which stood at 53,462 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,479 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,318 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -10.9%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Punta Buri as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
