Barangay Santiago

Situated in Alangalang, Leyte, Barangay Santiago is one of 54 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Santiago had a population of 385. This made it the 49th largest of 54 barangays in Alangalang by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santiago accounted for approximately 0.67% of the total population of Alangalang, which stood at 57,185 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 319 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 385 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +20.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Santiago is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
