Barangay Salvacion

Situated in Albuera, Leyte, Barangay Salvacion is one of 16 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Salvacion had a population of 860. This made it the 16th largest of 16 barangays in Albuera by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salvacion accounted for approximately 1.82% of the total population of Albuera, which stood at 47,151 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Salvacion changed from 756 to 860, a shift of +13.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Albuera. Barangay Salvacion is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Albuera is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Salvacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Leyte, which contains 1,641 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Salvacion ranks 740th by 2020 population.
