Barangay Canarvacanan

Barangay Canarvacanan is a small barangay in the municipality of Alcala, located in the province of Pangasinan, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Canarvacanan had a population of 1,968. This made it the 10th largest of 21 barangays in Alcala by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Canarvacanan accounted for approximately 4.02% of the total population of Alcala, which stood at 48,908 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Canarvacanan changed from 1,767 to 1,968, a shift of +11.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Alcala. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Canarvacanan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Alcala is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Canarvacanan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
