Barangay Pentil

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Pentil is one of the administrative divisions of Aleosan in Cotabato, SOCCSKSARGEN, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pentil had a population of 1,027. This made it the 16th largest of 19 barangays in Aleosan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pentil accounted for approximately 2.45% of the total population of Aleosan, which stood at 41,944 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Pentil moving from 1,392 residents to 1,027 residents, an intercensal change of -26.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pentil as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Aleosan is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pentil, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cotabato, which contains 543 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pentil ranks 422nd by 2020 population. The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections.
