Barangay Balintonga

Situated in Aloran, Misamis Occidental, Barangay Balintonga is one of 38 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Balintonga had a population of 481. This made it the 29th largest of 38 barangays in Aloran by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balintonga accounted for approximately 1.72% of the total population of Aloran, which stood at 27,934 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Balintonga changed from 411 to 481, a shift of +17.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Aloran. Barangay Balintonga is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Aloran is a municipality comprising 38 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balintonga, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
