Barangay Tugasnon

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Tugasnon is one of the administrative divisions of Alubijid in Misamis Oriental, Northern Mindanao, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tugasnon had a population of 1,853. This made it the 9th largest of 16 barangays in Alubijid by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tugasnon accounted for approximately 5.76% of the total population of Alubijid, which stood at 32,163 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tugasnon moving from 2,188 residents to 1,853 residents, an intercensal change of -15.3%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Tugasnon is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Alubijid is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tugasnon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
