Barangay Marungko

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Marungko is one of the administrative divisions of Angat in Bulacan, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Marungko had a population of 5,552. This made it the 5th largest of 16 barangays in Angat by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Marungko accounted for approximately 8.46% of the total population of Angat, which stood at 65,617 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Marungko moving from 4,344 residents to 5,552 residents, an intercensal change of +27.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Marungko as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Angat is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Marungko, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bulacan, which contains 569 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Marungko ranks 212th by 2020 population.
