Barangay Bayo Grande

Barangay Bayo Grande is a small barangay in the municipality of Anini-Y, located in the province of Antique, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bayo Grande had a population of 731. This made it the 15th largest of 23 barangays in Anini-Y by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bayo Grande accounted for approximately 3.32% of the total population of Anini-Y, which stood at 22,018 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 670 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 731 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Bayo Grande is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Anini-Y is a municipality comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bayo Grande, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Antique, which contains 590 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bayo Grande ranks 312th by 2020 population.
