Barangay Poblacion

Barangay Poblacion is a large barangay in the municipality of Antipas, located in the province of Cotabato, in the SOCCSKSARGEN region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 7,423. This made it the 1st largest of 13 barangays in Antipas by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 27.68% of the total population of Antipas, which stood at 26,817 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 7,205 residents to 7,423 residents, an intercensal change of +3.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Poblacion is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Antipas is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cotabato, which contains 543 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Poblacion ranks 18th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
