Barangay Anapolon

Situated in Arakan, Cotabato, Barangay Anapolon is one of 28 barangays that make up the municipality within SOCCSKSARGEN.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Anapolon had a population of 852. This made it the 22nd largest of 28 barangays in Arakan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Anapolon accounted for approximately 1.69% of the total population of Arakan, which stood at 50,558 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 813 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 852 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +4.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Anapolon is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Arakan is a municipality comprising 28 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Anapolon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cotabato, which contains 543 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Anapolon ranks 447th by 2020 population. Barangay Anapolon is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
