Barangay Bangon

Barangay Bangon is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Aroroy, located in the province of Masbate, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bangon had a population of 2,915. This made it the 7th largest of 41 barangays in Aroroy by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bangon accounted for approximately 3.30% of the total population of Aroroy, which stood at 88,351 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bangon moving from 2,804 residents to 2,915 residents, an intercensal change of +4.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bangon as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Aroroy is a municipality comprising 41 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bangon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Masbate, which contains 550 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bangon ranks 66th by 2020 population.
