Barangay Buan

Barangay Buan is a small barangay in the municipality of Asuncion, located in the province of Davao Del Norte, in the Davao Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Buan had a population of 1,328. This made it the 19th largest of 20 barangays in Asuncion by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Buan accounted for approximately 2.15% of the total population of Asuncion, which stood at 61,893 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Buan moving from 1,230 residents to 1,328 residents, an intercensal change of +8.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Buan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Asuncion is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Buan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
