Barangay Buang

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Buang is one of the administrative divisions of Bacacay in Albay, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Buang had a population of 1,264. This made it the 21st largest of 56 barangays in Bacacay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Buang accounted for approximately 1.74% of the total population of Bacacay, which stood at 72,485 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Buang moving from 1,337 residents to 1,264 residents, an intercensal change of -5.5%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Buang is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
