Situated in Balayan, Batangas, Barangay 1 (Pob.) is one of 48 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay 1 (Pob.) had a population of 2,100. This made it the 17th largest of 48 barangays in Balayan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay 1 (Pob.) accounted for approximately 2.19% of the total population of Balayan, which stood at 95,913 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,194 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,100 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.3%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay 1 (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
