Barangay Maria-Cristina

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Maria-Cristina is one of the administrative divisions of Baloi in Lanao Del Norte, Northern Mindanao, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Maria-Cristina had a population of 7,122. This made it the 1st largest of 21 barangays in Baloi by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Maria-Cristina accounted for approximately 10.40% of the total population of Baloi, which stood at 68,465 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Maria-Cristina moving from 6,485 residents to 7,122 residents, an intercensal change of +9.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Maria-Cristina as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Baloi is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Maria-Cristina, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Lanao Del Norte, which contains 506 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Maria-Cristina ranks 6th by 2020 population.
