Situated in Balud, Masbate, Barangay Mapili is one of 32 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Mapili changed from 146 to 256, a shift of +75.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Balud.
