Barangay Sampad

Situated in Balud, Masbate, Barangay Sampad is one of 32 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sampad had a population of 502. This made it the 27th largest of 32 barangays in Balud by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sampad accounted for approximately 1.25% of the total population of Balud, which stood at 40,155 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Sampad moving from 480 residents to 502 residents, an intercensal change of +4.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Sampad is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balud is a municipality comprising 32 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sampad, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
