Barangay Poblacion

Situated in Banga, Aklan, Barangay Poblacion is one of 30 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 1,866. This made it the 6th largest of 30 barangays in Banga by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 4.63% of the total population of Banga, which stood at 40,318 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 1,997 residents to 1,866 residents, an intercensal change of -6.6%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Poblacion is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Banga is a municipality comprising 30 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
