Situated in Banisilan, Cotabato, Barangay Tumbao-Camalig is one of 20 barangays that make up the municipality within SOCCSKSARGEN.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tumbao-Camalig had a population of 836. This made it the 19th largest of 20 barangays in Banisilan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tumbao-Camalig accounted for approximately 1.78% of the total population of Banisilan, which stood at 46,995 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 860 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 836 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -2.8%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Tumbao-Camalig is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
