Barangay Tamiao

Barangay Tamiao forms part of Bantayan, a municipality in Cebu, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tamiao had a population of 2,311. This made it the 21st largest of 25 barangays in Bantayan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tamiao accounted for approximately 2.68% of the total population of Bantayan, which stood at 86,247 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tamiao moving from 2,106 residents to 2,311 residents, an intercensal change of +9.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tamiao as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
