Barangay Latang

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Latang is one of the administrative divisions of Barlig in Mountain Province, CAR, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Latang had a population of 387. This made it the 6th largest of 11 barangays in Barlig by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Latang accounted for approximately 8.07% of the total population of Barlig, which stood at 4,796 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Latang moving from 407 residents to 387 residents, an intercensal change of -4.9%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Latang as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Barlig is a municipality comprising 11 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Latang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Mountain Province, which contains 144 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Latang ranks 122nd by 2020 population.
