Barangay General Luna

Barangay General Luna is a small barangay in the municipality of Barotac Viejo, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay General Luna had a population of 1,812. This made it the 11th largest of 26 barangays in Barotac Viejo by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay General Luna accounted for approximately 3.73% of the total population of Barotac Viejo, which stood at 48,614 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay General Luna changed from 1,797 to 1,812, a shift of +0.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Barotac Viejo. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay General Luna as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Barotac Viejo is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay General Luna, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
