Barangay Bulao

Situated in Basey, Samar, Barangay Bulao is one of 51 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bulao had a population of 1,323. This made it the 18th largest of 51 barangays in Basey by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bulao accounted for approximately 2.33% of the total population of Basey, which stood at 56,685 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bulao moving from 1,232 residents to 1,323 residents, an intercensal change of +7.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bulao as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
