Barangay Calicanto

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Calicanto is one of the administrative divisions of Batangas City in Batangas, CALABARZON, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Calicanto had a population of 10,769. This made it the 8th largest of 105 barangays in Batangas City by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Calicanto accounted for approximately 3.06% of the total population of Batangas City, which stood at 351,437 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 10,893 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 10,769 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.1%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Calicanto as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Batangas City is a city comprising 105 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Calicanto, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
