Barangay Tinga Itaas

Barangay Tinga Itaas is a mid-sized barangay in the city of Batangas City, located in the province of Batangas, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tinga Itaas had a population of 3,060. This made it the 36th largest of 105 barangays in Batangas City by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Tinga Itaas accounted for approximately 0.87% of the total population of Batangas City, which stood at 351,437 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,972 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,060 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tinga Itaas as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Batangas City is a city comprising 105 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tinga Itaas, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Batangas, which contains 1,078 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Tinga Itaas ranks 293rd by 2020 population.
