Barangay Ilawod (Pob.)

Situated in Bato, Catanduanes, Barangay Ilawod (Pob.) is one of 27 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ilawod (Pob.) had a population of 927. This made it the 9th largest of 27 barangays in Bato by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ilawod (Pob.) accounted for approximately 4.26% of the total population of Bato, which stood at 21,748 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 987 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 927 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -6.1%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Ilawod (Pob.) is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bato is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ilawod (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
