Barangay La Paz

Barangay La Paz is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Bayabas, located in the province of Surigao Del Sur, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay La Paz had a population of 2,563. This made it the 1st largest of 7 barangays in Bayabas by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay La Paz accounted for approximately 28.54% of the total population of Bayabas, which stood at 8,979 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay La Paz changed from 2,171 to 2,563, a shift of +18.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Bayabas. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay La Paz as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bayabas is a municipality comprising 7 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay La Paz, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
