Barangay Bonfal Proper

Barangay Bonfal Proper is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Bayombong, located in the province of Nueva Vizcaya, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bonfal Proper had a population of 4,923. This made it the 3rd largest of 25 barangays in Bayombong by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bonfal Proper accounted for approximately 7.27% of the total population of Bayombong, which stood at 67,714 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bonfal Proper changed from 4,793 to 4,923, a shift of +2.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Bayombong. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bonfal Proper as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bayombong is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bonfal Proper, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
