Barangay Bicas-bicas

Situated in Buenavista, Marinduque, Barangay Bicas-bicas is one of 15 barangays that make up the municipality within MIMAROPA Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bicas-bicas had a population of 862. This made it the 12th largest of 15 barangays in Buenavista by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bicas-bicas accounted for approximately 3.31% of the total population of Buenavista, which stood at 26,043 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bicas-bicas moving from 775 residents to 862 residents, an intercensal change of +11.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bicas-bicas as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Buenavista is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bicas-bicas, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
