Barangay Magkaya

Barangay Magkaya is a small barangay in the municipality of Buenavista, located in the province of Bohol, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Magkaya had a population of 746. This made it the 19th largest of 35 barangays in Buenavista by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Magkaya accounted for approximately 2.51% of the total population of Buenavista, which stood at 29,711 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Magkaya moving from 701 residents to 746 residents, an intercensal change of +6.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Magkaya as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Buenavista is a municipality comprising 35 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Magkaya, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
