Barangay Otavi

Barangay Otavi is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Bulan, located in the province of Sorsogon, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Otavi had a population of 3,452. This made it the 7th largest of 63 barangays in Bulan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Otavi accounted for approximately 3.28% of the total population of Bulan, which stood at 105,190 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Otavi moving from 3,169 residents to 3,452 residents, an intercensal change of +8.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Otavi is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bulan is a municipality comprising 63 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Otavi, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
