Situated in Burauen, Leyte, Barangay Candag-on is one of 77 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Candag-on had a population of 251. This made it the 69th largest of 77 barangays in Burauen by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Candag-on accounted for approximately 0.48% of the total population of Burauen, which stood at 52,511 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Candag-on moving from 334 residents to 251 residents, an intercensal change of -24.9%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Candag-on as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
