Barangay Catagbacan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Catagbacan is one of the administrative divisions of Burauen in Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Catagbacan had a population of 742. This made it the 23rd largest of 77 barangays in Burauen by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Catagbacan accounted for approximately 1.41% of the total population of Burauen, which stood at 52,511 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Catagbacan moving from 690 residents to 742 residents, an intercensal change of +7.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Catagbacan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Burauen is a municipality comprising 77 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Catagbacan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
