Barangay Damulo-an

Barangay Damulo-an is a very small barangay in the municipality of Burauen, located in the province of Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Damulo-an had a population of 173. This made it the 75th largest of 77 barangays in Burauen by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Damulo-an accounted for approximately 0.33% of the total population of Burauen, which stood at 52,511 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Damulo-an changed from 242 to 173, a shift of -28.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Burauen. Barangay Damulo-an is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Burauen is a municipality comprising 77 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Damulo-an, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
