Barangay Poblacion District I

Barangay Poblacion District I is a small barangay in the municipality of Burauen, located in the province of Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion District I had a population of 1,437. This made it the 7th largest of 77 barangays in Burauen by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion District I accounted for approximately 2.74% of the total population of Burauen, which stood at 52,511 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion District I moving from 1,614 residents to 1,437 residents, an intercensal change of -11.0%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion District I as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
