Barangay Bangbangar

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Bangbangar is one of the administrative divisions of Burgos in Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bangbangar had a population of 297. This made it the 21st largest of 26 barangays in Burgos by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bangbangar accounted for approximately 2.32% of the total population of Burgos, which stood at 12,793 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bangbangar moving from 289 residents to 297 residents, an intercensal change of +2.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bangbangar as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Burgos is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bangbangar, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
