Situated in Cabagan, Isabela, Barangay Cubag is one of 26 barangays that make up the municipality within Cagayan Valley.

This made it the 6th largest of 26 barangays in Cabagan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Cubag changed from 2,528 to 2,620, a shift of +3.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Cabagan.
