Situated in Cabatuan, Isabela, Barangay Calaocan is one of 22 barangays that make up the municipality within Cagayan Valley.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Calaocan had a population of 1,387. This made it the 15th largest of 22 barangays in Cabatuan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Calaocan accounted for approximately 3.47% of the total population of Cabatuan, which stood at 39,990 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Calaocan changed from 1,410 to 1,387, a shift of -1.6% over the five-year period.
