Barangay Kahayag

Barangay Kahayag is a small barangay in the municipality of Calape, located in the province of Bohol, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Kahayag had a population of 547. This made it the 25th largest of 33 barangays in Calape by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Kahayag accounted for approximately 1.65% of the total population of Calape, which stood at 33,079 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Kahayag moving from 530 residents to 547 residents, an intercensal change of +3.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Kahayag as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
