Barangay Dionela

Situated in Caluya, Antique, Barangay Dionela is one of 18 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Dionela had a population of 363. This made it the 18th largest of 18 barangays in Caluya by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dionela accounted for approximately 0.93% of the total population of Caluya, which stood at 38,908 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Dionela changed from 316 to 363, a shift of +14.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Caluya. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Dionela as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Caluya is a municipality comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dionela, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Antique, which contains 590 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Dionela ranks 496th by 2020 population.
