Barangay Cuayang Bugtong

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Cuayang Bugtong is one of the administrative divisions of Candaba in Pampanga, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cuayang Bugtong had a population of 2,113. This made it the 28th largest of 33 barangays in Candaba by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cuayang Bugtong accounted for approximately 1.77% of the total population of Candaba, which stood at 119,497 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,975 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,113 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cuayang Bugtong as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Candaba is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cuayang Bugtong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pampanga, which contains 538 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Cuayang Bugtong ranks 391st by 2020 population. Barangay Cuayang Bugtong is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
