Barangay Buntalid

Situated in Cantilan, Surigao Del Sur, Barangay Buntalid is one of 17 barangays that make up the municipality within Caraga.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Buntalid had a population of 1,333. This made it the 11th largest of 17 barangays in Cantilan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Buntalid accounted for approximately 3.91% of the total population of Cantilan, which stood at 34,060 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Buntalid moving from 1,240 residents to 1,333 residents, an intercensal change of +7.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Buntalid is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
