Barangay Poloan

Situated in Caramoan, Camarines Sur, Barangay Poloan is one of 49 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poloan had a population of 499. This made it the 45th largest of 49 barangays in Caramoan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poloan accounted for approximately 0.96% of the total population of Caramoan, which stood at 51,728 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 338 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 499 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +47.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Poloan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Caramoan is a municipality comprising 49 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poloan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Camarines Sur, which contains 1,063 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Poloan ranks 983rd by 2020 population.
