Situated in Carmen, Bohol, Barangay Montehermoso is one of 29 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Montehermoso had a population of 1,056. This made it the 19th largest of 29 barangays in Carmen by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Montehermoso accounted for approximately 2.15% of the total population of Carmen, which stood at 49,191 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 874 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,056 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +20.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Montehermoso is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
