Barangay Bon-ot

Situated in Carrascal, Surigao Del Sur, Barangay Bon-ot is one of 14 barangays that make up the municipality within Caraga.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bon-ot had a population of 1,881. This made it the 5th largest of 14 barangays in Carrascal by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bon-ot accounted for approximately 7.65% of the total population of Carrascal, which stood at 24,586 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,862 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,881 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.0%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay Bon-ot is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Carrascal is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bon-ot, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Surigao Del Sur, which contains 309 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bon-ot ranks 110th by 2020 population.
