Barangay Bagumbayan

Situated in Cataingan, Masbate, Barangay Bagumbayan is one of 36 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bagumbayan had a population of 1,110. This made it the 18th largest of 36 barangays in Cataingan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagumbayan accounted for approximately 2.19% of the total population of Cataingan, which stood at 50,623 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bagumbayan moving from 1,187 residents to 1,110 residents, an intercensal change of -6.5%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Bagumbayan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
