Barangay Taytayan

Situated in Cateel, Davao Oriental, Barangay Taytayan is one of 16 barangays that make up the municipality within Davao Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Taytayan had a population of 5,862. This made it the 2nd largest of 16 barangays in Cateel by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Taytayan accounted for approximately 13.26% of the total population of Cateel, which stood at 44,207 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Taytayan moving from 4,783 residents to 5,862 residents, an intercensal change of +22.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Taytayan is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Cateel is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Taytayan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
