Barangay Guiom

Situated in Cawayan, Masbate, Barangay Guiom is one of 37 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Guiom had a population of 2,375. This made it the 11th largest of 37 barangays in Cawayan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Guiom accounted for approximately 3.43% of the total population of Cawayan, which stood at 69,265 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Guiom changed from 2,227 to 2,375, a shift of +6.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Cawayan. Barangay Guiom is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Cawayan is a municipality comprising 37 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Guiom, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
